Stuart Cox who was President of the NSW Golf Association from December 2007 until the organisation amalgamated with WGNSW on July 1 was recently awarded Life Membership in recognition of his meritorious and outstanding service to the Association.
As Chairman of the NSWGA, Cox played a leading role throughout his tenure navigating the men's administrative ship toward the merger wharf. A duty that was full of responsibility on one hand and unenviable on the other. Only the few who were on the bridge during this voyage would fully appreciate his drive and investment in the process. He jointly headed the amalgamation Steering Committee whose stewardship ultimately lead to the two governing bodies agreement to merge.
Prior to his stint as President, Stuart Cox was Chairman of the NSWGA Match Committee as well as being involved on numerous other organisational Sub Committees over many years.
Managing NSW State Teams when they strode to victory in the Interstate Series is yet another of his achievements. Stuart was also a Delegate to Golf Australia.
As a Life Member of NSWGA, Stuart Cox now sits alongside an illustrious band of major contributors to the development of men's golf in NSW.
